Broke B* Style: Introduction
Dear shopaholic on a budget,Fashion doesn't always have to break the bank. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE boutiques, nice stores, and I enjoy investing in quality pieces. Butttttt, when you're an avid shopper like myself (hello no self control) I can't necessarily afford to spend a pretty penny on every single item. Also, I hate to admit this, but I typically only wear an outfit maybe once or twice (I do wear more expensive clothes more than this, but never styled the exact same) That, ladies and gents, is where stores like Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and thrift stores come in handy.
Here's the thing: do a lot of their clothes not appeal to me/look cheap? Yepp. BUT don't let that steer you away. I have tips to help make a "cheap" piece of clothing look more expensive:
- 1. These places are more disorganized than a Forever 21, so definitely make sure you have time to roam around and dig. At first glance, if you aren't used to shopping here, you will want to immediately leave because it's such a headache. But if you actually spend the time + look through every item, you will find GEMS! These aren't stores you want to go to if you only have a spare moment to look.
- 2. Check. Clearance. You can (occasionally) find good items for dirt cheap.
- 3. Pair less expensive clothing with more expensive clothing (ex: mix & match $200 jeans with an $8 shirt)
- 4. Pair your cheap outfit with expensive accessories. (ex: lower priced clothing with an expensive purse, jewelry, shoes)
As I post my budget friendly #OOTD on Instagram, I will then update my blog post with each outfit. Each blog will be labeled with the store I will be focusing on. Therefore, you can easily access each store + outfit details.
I can't wait to share all my goodies with you guys! If you have any specific requests (whether it be a store or clothing item) please DM my Instagram!
